Greetings SCRC members and friends. For the last 2 winters I,ve been hiking the West Branch trails on Saturday mornings at 9 A.M.  This hike was formerly headed up by Catherine Serra and she has since moved on to tri sports. The people that I hiked with was a diversified group that had a wide  range of  age and physical  ability. I would describe this group to my friends as running club gimps and bicycle club refugees. The hike usually consists of a 9 sharp launch at the West Branch parking lot . We hit the trails for 3 to 6 miles depending on weather conditions. The only thing that ruins it is if its really wet. Some people bring cross country skis when conditions are good. We hike about 2 hours and no dead are abandoned. I wear yak tracks and combine running and hiking. This is a good outdoors activity for those who want to get out in the winter but do not get too excited about the idea of running. I'm prepared to head this up, as I have run this network of trails for years and know my way around there pretty good. However, I need more than 4 people to make this worthwhile. Doug, my apologies for not replying sooner. I havent checked this site in a while. Yes the hikes are on and will be all winter.
